FirstQFM CTO Isaiah Hull spoke at IQT Nordics 2026, held June 22-24 at OsloMet University. The fourth annual edition of the conference brought together more than 70 speakers from across the Nordic and international quantum ecosystem for three days of talks and panels on quantum computing, sensing, communications, software, commercialization, and industry development.
The program included representatives from organizations such as Microsoft, IBM, IQM, Quantum Machines, VTT, RISE, KTH, Chalmers University of Technology, the Niels Bohr Institute, Novo Nordisk Foundation, Volvo Group, the Research Council of Norway, Vinnova, and Nordic Innovation.
Hull presented “Improving the Performance and Scalability of Quantum Computers with AI” during the conference’s AI for Quantum for AI session. The talk focused on the use of machine learning to address engineering challenges that become increasingly difficult as quantum systems scale, including calibration and tune-up, pulse-level control, circuit optimization, and error-correction decoding.
FirstQFM’s CTO also joined the “AI for Quantum for AI” panel moderated by Morten Bache, Scientific Director at the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The panel included Hannu Kauppinen, CEO and Co-founder of QMill; Martina Stella, Head of Partnerships and Senior Researcher at Algorithmiq; and Sam Kearney of Haiqu. The session also featured talks from Anton Frisk Kockum of Chalmers University of Technology and James Fletcher of ORCA Computing.
