FirstQFM CTO Isaiah Hull spoke at Deep Tech Investor Day 2026, held on June 3 at Maria 01 in Helsinki. Organized by BSV Ventures in collaboration with Maria 01, the third annual event was designed as a curated gathering for investors, startups, researchers, and policymakers working across critical technologies in Europe.
The program was organized across three stages covering Deep Tech & Engineering, Life Sciences & Health Tech, and Defence & Dual-Use, with a mix of startup pitches, scientific speakers, investor panels, government representatives, and networking. Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, opened the event, while participating investors and organizations included BSV Ventures, Join Capital, Vsquared Ventures, NATO Innovation Fund, Norrsken Evolve, Keen Venture Partners, and others.
Hull joined the Deep Tech & Engineering panel “AI – Beyond Models: Who Controls Intelligence in Real-World AI Systems?” alongside Jan Borgstädt, Founding Partner at Join Capital. The discussion was moderated by Erik Bhullar, General Partner at BSV Ventures, and focused on how AI systems operate beyond the model layer, including the infrastructure, control, and deployment challenges involved in bringing AI into real-world systems.
